Advanced Map Viewer Help

The Advanced Viewer is a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) viewer that allows the user to access, query and view spatial data via the web. It provides a streamlined approach to geographic analysis while at the same time being simplistic in nature to accommodate all user skill levels.

The Advanced Viewer comprises of five main components, a map viewer window, a main menu, a predictive search menu, a navigation toolbar, and a base layer tool bar. It also displays the current map scale, the current XY location, an overview map window, the spatial tool is being used and provides support documentation when you need help.

This section provides help and advice for using the viewer.

Getting Started

The Advanced Viewer can be accessed from any computer with an internet connection and does not require a licence or subscription.

Advanced GIS Viewer Computer System Requirements

A web browser with Adobe Flash Player 11.1 or higher is required to run the web mapping application. Flash Player is available from from Adobe ».

Note: Unfortunately not all web browsers are capable of operating Adobe Flash player. If you are using a web browser that is not capable of running Adobe Flash Player, try the standard GIS viewer here. The standard GIS Viewer is based on HTML technology, and should run in most modern web browsers, though it offers reduced functionality compared to the Advanced GIS Viewer.
