Description
The township of Waiau is located in North Canterbury at the confluence of the Waiau and Mason rivers. Due to its position and height relative to these rivers, the township was identified as potentially vulnerable to flooding. An investigation was conducted to determine the likely extent and depth of flooding that could occur in the township and surrounding area during 50, 200 and 500 year Average Recurrence Interval (ARI) flood events.Map Credits
