Description

The Hurunui Waiau River Regional Plan (HWRRP) provides a framework for the sustainable management of water resources in the Hurunui, Waiau and Jed catchments.
It manages the taking, use and diversion of surface and groundwater, the damming of surface water, the discharge of water for non-consumptive activities and land uses which may affect water quality.

Where an activity is specifically provided for in the HWRRP the HWRRP applies. For all other activities the rules in the Land and Water Regional Plan and the Natural Resources Regional Plan apply.
