Aerial imagery of the greater Canterbury area taken between 2000 and 2004

This map service currently comprises the following aerial data surveys:
LINZ - NZ Orthos  2000 - 2001
ECAN - Ortho 1m Canterbury - 2000

In instances where imagery overlaps the newest imagery is displayed.
More imagery will be added to this map as it becomes available.

The Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) imagery has been sourced as georeferenced .tif files with an unknown accuracy.

The Environment Canterbury (ECAN) imagery was provided as georeferenced .tif files with an accuracy of +/-12.5m

This map and map service is a result of ESRI mosaics built from the MPI collections.

NOTE: Not to be used as a base for measurement. Inaccuracies occur.

  • LINZ estimated extent has been added to show what areas have been geo-referenced and what areas to still to be done.
