Aerial imagery of the greater Canterbury area taken between 1970 - 1974

This map service currently comprises the following aerial data surveys:
NZAM - SN2634 - 1973
More imagery will be added to this map as it becomes available.

This NZAM Survey SN2634 has been sourced from NZAM in Napier and scanned from original film by NZAM into high resolution tif files. These film scans have been georeferenced by hand to Environment Canterbury Aerials (NZMG) 2004 collection.

This map and map service is a result of an ESRI mosaic built from those films. Every care was taken to georeference these tiles as accurately as possible, but an auditing process and other work to finish this work has not been completed.

Some films have degraded over time and have burn marks / scratches etc.

This early release has been done before an auditing and final checking process to help Environment Canterbury and its partners use this information in the Canterbury Recovery process.
